Tunde Odunlade hand carved this special edition of seven blocks in Ile-Ife, Nigeria and at the Southwest School of Art, San Antonio, Texas. All were printed at Stone Metal Press in San Antonio, Texas. Each limited edition is unique—often referred to as limited edition variable (LEV). This process allows the greatest freedom of expression–with some printed black on white, some printed in color, and others with hand-applied color. The art is all hand-inked, pressed, and pulled from lino- and wood-blocks. Suite 1/20 of this special edition is in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art. “The Music Lesson,” printed in 1992 on handmade paper, is in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
